COMMITTEE INFORMATION

Sault College SAC requires students to sit on the following committees throughout the academic year.  Apply online to volunteer for a seat on any of the committees listed below and get your voice heard.

Ancillary Fee Committee

Ancillary fees are fees that students pay on top of tuition for services like student government, the health center, lockers and health insurance. This committee looks at proposals to set in place the ancillary fees for the following year.

• 3 students are required for this committee.
• The committee meets 2 yearly (Oct. – Dec.).        Volunteer!

Technology Fee Committee

The technology fee is one of the ancillary fees that students pay. It is currently set at $81.  This committee decides how this money will be spent to improve the student’s access to technology.

• 3 students are required for this committee.
• The committee meets once monthly (Nov. – Dec.) and twice monthly (Jan. – Feb.).    Volunteer!

Programming Committee

The mandate of this committee is to program the events SAC will be putting on throughout the year.  This committee is perfect for outgoing individuals who like to have fun.

• 8 students are required for this committee.
• The committee meets once monthly (Oct. – Mar.).    Volunteer!

Social Norms Committee

This committee looks at social issues effecting students.

• 2 students are required for this committee.
• The committee meets once monthly (Sept. – Mar.).    Volunteer!

Accessibility Committee

This committee looks at how the school can be made more accessible for people with special needs.

• 2 students are required for this committee.
• The committee meets once monthly (Sept. – Mar.).    Volunteer!

Student Code of Conduct Appeals Committee

This committee looks at student appeals made on student code of conduct appeals. .

• 6 students are required for this committee.
• The committee meets on a “as needed” basis.        Volunteer!

Standing Academic Appeals Committee

This committee looks at appeals of the academic nature.

• 12 students are required for this committee.
• The committee meets on a “as needed” basis.        Volunteer!

Advisory Council

The Board of Governors is to ensure that an Advisory College Council is established, the purpose of which is to provide a means for students and staff at the college to provide advice to the College President on matters of importance to students and staff. Below is the necessary student membership.

• 3 Students - School of Technology, Skilled Trades, Natural Resources
• 3 Students - School of Health & Community Services
• 1 Student - Continuing Education, Business & Hospitality
• 1 Student - Native Education & Training                    Volunteer!

Respect Committee

 The Respect Committee is the coordinating body of the Sault College SAC Respect Campaign. The Respect Campaign is meant to raise public awareness, to make civility a topic of discussion, to promote tolerance, to prepare students for the expectations of the work world, and to reinforce community expectations regarding appropriate behaviour.
